Last Day of School...

It was the last day of school today.

Ashley and her fellow 5th graders played hard all afternoon with their amazing party. They had pizza and soda's and cookies and chips and they were allowed to sit wherever they wanted too in the cafeteria! :) Then they moved onto an inflatable to climb through, over, under and around...

A DJ was set up on the patio and they had a dance party- even with a microphone the girls jumped in and took turns singing along with the music.

Ashley didn't want me taking pictures of her, but I snuck one of her standing with friends and getting into the dancing...

Angela and I then hopped over to Alyssa's classroom and witnessed their own dance party. The desks made a great dance floor in the middle.

They even convinced their teacher to come and join in the dancing...

A great class and a great teacher- it was her first year teaching and she was great!

Then we went to the hallway to stake a good spot for the clap-out. Our school has a tradition that on the last day of school, the 5th grade classes are lead through the halls of the school while all the students stand in the hallways clapping and yelling and congratulating the kids on their completion of Elementary School. It's a neat tradition that I enjoy and I love to see all the parents and kids lining the hallways so excited for the leaving 5th graders.

Ashley and her friend made some t-shirts yesterday and had all their friends sign them at school today- a fun idea. :)

And with that... we are ready for the pool, and summer!! :)

Rocky Mountains and Idaho

We left Rich's sister and brother and their families in Keystone and headed on to Julie's family reunion in Island Park Idaho. The drive was gorgeous. I can't get enough of the views as we drove through the mountains. I was surprised at the quality of pictures I was able to get through the windshield of the car while we were speeding along at 60+ mph! (sorry for the wierd formatting of pictures... trying different options of hosting sites here! :)) Upon arrival at the cabin in Idaho we wasted no time and started the games and fun. Grandma (my mom) had some things she shouted out and everyone that fit in the group would go and sit by the fireplace for a group picture... "A" names, Born in Utah, Born east of the missisippi, etc... it ended with all the girls and all the guys taking group pictures. The next day we went on a gorgeous hike. The kids surprised us and just took off on the hike. We had to send Rich off to catch up with them instead of tagging bac...

House projects

After a few weeks of Rich working from home, we decided that we needed to do some moving around of stuff in the house. The exercise equipment needed to be taken out of the office, and we made the decision to dismantle Alex's room since it's downstairs and that would become the new exercise room. His stuff got packed up, and the room was painted and the treadmill was put into that room (which was a feat of it's own! It won't come out of that room until we move away, and maybe not even then! lol! The office got a coat of paint as well and two of the bathrooms. Now the entire house (except for closets) has been painted since we had moved in 3 years before. But then the biggest house project was thought of, and debated and decided on. We had always said that we would like to redo the kitchen in this house, and decided to tackle the project. We found cabinets online we liked and worked with a company to decide on our cabinet layout, and we ordered them....

Our Dog Tale...

So... we have spent the last three weeks looking at puppies online, finding one that would be great for our family. We found an adorable little 4 month old black lab from a lab rescue in Tulsa, about an hour and a half drive away. We contacted them, and filled out the adoption application paperwork. Sent pictures of our fenced back yard, and got approved to adopt her. The lab rescue had named her Regina, for their records mainly- they generally called her puppy and girld so that she would easily adapt to a new name. We bought a large crate (she would get big!) and food bowls and a collar, leash and tag for her and on Saturday we drove to Tulsa to pick her up. The lab rescue was doing an adoption fair, so they had all the dogs they were trying to adopt out at a Petsmart and we meet them there. We got there around 1pm. As I was walking over there were a few people asking about a cute little puppy, and I overheard that it was Regina, and she was being adopted... I then said that I was Jul...
