Angela's Pre-K field trip

Angela's Pre-K class had a field trip to the zoo... so we have more pictures to share! The Lorikeet adventure is a fun area where you can go in and interact with the birds... they'll come and land right on your arm, shoulder, or whatever surface they can find to land on!

It was an overcast and rainy day... perfect to catch the animals outside... The lion came and walked right between the two lionesses that were sitting up on the rock... it was a neat sight!

Angie had a little scavenger hunt to fill out for her field trip. She had to figure out what letter belonged at the front of this sign... :)

Angela insisted that she pack herself a lunch that morning to bring with her to the zoo... it didn't matter that mommy was willing to buy her lunch... she was a big kid going on and field trip and she was going to bring her own lunch! :)

The Cougar... gotta get a picture of that... Go BYU cougars! :)

It is a great exhibit area that has some mixtures of animals... the deer and turkeys and some other birds all cohabitat just like they do here in Oklahoma naturally.

Angie was walking by the birds and then stopped and turned and started talking to the little birds in the pond. She was saying "hello birdie" "hi birdie" over and over and over.

The bear walked down and stood up and was scratching his back on the tree trunk. Angie said it was her favorite thing that happened that day.

The new childrens zoo has a petting zoo and inside there is a little activity center where kids can learn what types of food the animals in the petting zoo eat... here Angie is sorting out the foods for the animals, and petting a little goat.

One more snack and then we were ready to head home for the day...

Rocky Mountains and Idaho

We left Rich's sister and brother and their families in Keystone and headed on to Julie's family reunion in Island Park Idaho. The drive was gorgeous. I can't get enough of the views as we drove through the mountains. I was surprised at the quality of pictures I was able to get through the windshield of the car while we were speeding along at 60+ mph! (sorry for the wierd formatting of pictures... trying different options of hosting sites here! :)) Upon arrival at the cabin in Idaho we wasted no time and started the games and fun. Grandma (my mom) had some things she shouted out and everyone that fit in the group would go and sit by the fireplace for a group picture... "A" names, Born in Utah, Born east of the missisippi, etc... it ended with all the girls and all the guys taking group pictures. The next day we went on a gorgeous hike. The kids surprised us and just took off on the hike. We had to send Rich off to catch up with them instead of tagging bac...

House projects

After a few weeks of Rich working from home, we decided that we needed to do some moving around of stuff in the house. The exercise equipment needed to be taken out of the office, and we made the decision to dismantle Alex's room since it's downstairs and that would become the new exercise room. His stuff got packed up, and the room was painted and the treadmill was put into that room (which was a feat of it's own! It won't come out of that room until we move away, and maybe not even then! lol! The office got a coat of paint as well and two of the bathrooms. Now the entire house (except for closets) has been painted since we had moved in 3 years before. But then the biggest house project was thought of, and debated and decided on. We had always said that we would like to redo the kitchen in this house, and decided to tackle the project. We found cabinets online we liked and worked with a company to decide on our cabinet layout, and we ordered them....

Our Dog Tale...

So... we have spent the last three weeks looking at puppies online, finding one that would be great for our family. We found an adorable little 4 month old black lab from a lab rescue in Tulsa, about an hour and a half drive away. We contacted them, and filled out the adoption application paperwork. Sent pictures of our fenced back yard, and got approved to adopt her. The lab rescue had named her Regina, for their records mainly- they generally called her puppy and girld so that she would easily adapt to a new name. We bought a large crate (she would get big!) and food bowls and a collar, leash and tag for her and on Saturday we drove to Tulsa to pick her up. The lab rescue was doing an adoption fair, so they had all the dogs they were trying to adopt out at a Petsmart and we meet them there. We got there around 1pm. As I was walking over there were a few people asking about a cute little puppy, and I overheard that it was Regina, and she was being adopted... I then said that I was Jul...
