It had been a busy year and we were all ready for a fun time in Orlando. School got out on Friday morning, Ashley drove home friday afternoon, and we all spent the afternoon/evening packing for the drive the next day.
Probably not the best pre-planning, but something we didn't realize until after plans had already been made- Rich had signed up to run The Woodland's Half Marathon that Saturday morning. So, Rich and I got up early that morning and he went and ran his 1/2 marathon. I was the support and drove him and cheered him on at the starting and finish lines. He did great and got a personal record for himself. After he was done we drove back home and finished loading up the van and left for the drive to Florida.
We've done a lot of road trips... we know all about traffic and unscheduled slow downs... I think this day we had more problems with traffic and detours and accidental alternate routes... we wound up getting to our hotel around 3 am, because we lost an hour going to the Eastern time zone, and it was also daylight savings time... so we lost an hour from that too.
The next morning we got up and drove the rest of the way down to Orlando, and checked into our hotel and then headed to Epcot to have some fun. We recreated some old photo's that night having dinner at the Beaches and Cream restaurant.
Now we've been to Disney and Universal so many times... and It's now a whole year later that I'm getting around to putting this up on the blog. So I'll spare you guys my play by play I've done in past years. :) Just know that the Star Wars Land is soooo cool! and worth the trip if you are in anyway a star wars fan! Here's some fun pictures from the next 4 days at disney...
After 4 days at DisneyWorld, we went over to Universal Studios. We didn't take many pictures there, but had a good time there as well. What was surreal was that as we were there the Covid pandemic started shutting things down. By the end of the week we were ready to just get in the car and drive home... without stopping for a hotel night on the way home.

If you look closely... you'll see Ashley has a UT shirt on and she and Alyssa are doing the sign UT kids do for the texas A&M kids..and the two boys in the front of the car - one has a texas A & M hat and they are doing the horns down that Texas A&M kids do for UT kids. lol!
