Disney Dream Cruise

We booked our cruise on the Disney Dream in March of 2010... it has been a highly anticipated trip... we have planned, and researched and organized for the last year for this trip and it did not dissapoint.

Our first views of the ship as we drive up to the port and drop off our luggage.


The gorgeous details all around the ship- this chandalier is the grand one in the atrium as you board the ship.

The only time on the whole cruise parents and non tweens are allowed up in the Edge Tween club are the first afternoon of the cruise- after that it's tweens only.  I snapped a shot of Ashley in what she predicted would be her favorite place to hang out in the club.


And Alex as well- of course computers would be around...  :)


After we checked out the Tween club, we went to see what the Oceaneer Club and Lab looked like.



The kids thought these hand washers were so cool in the Oceaneer Club and Lab. All they had to do was put their hands into the circles and water and soap were swirled all around and got their hands clean.  Everyone going into the club washed hands before they did anything.


On one deck there were these portholes and seats along a hallway... very cool spot to sit and watch the deck outside.


At our Safety Briefing... this is one of the last pictures Alex is in... the rest of the cruise he was having too much fun in the tween club to hang out with his family. lol! :)


Bon Voyage!!!


Dinner each night was great.  Our Server and Assistant server were great and got to know just what the kids liked and wanted each night.  Every night the girls would get their Mickey Head ketchup with their french fries.

The first two nights Alyssa was the only one that wanted to go and see the show in the theatre with Mom and Dad... she loved having some time with the two of us to herself.  The shows were great and we loved them!





In Nassau, Rich and I left the kids playing in their kids clubs on the ship and we went out and walked around the island a little bit.  I loved the architecture there.  The bold bright colors and the white trim..

Loved the details we see all over the ship... Mickey the brooms...


Remind you of anything???  Me... a certain sea gull in the Little Mermaid...  :)


Dinner that night was at Animators Palate... So much fun and Crush came and talked to everyone!




The Second Port was Castaway Cay... so much fun and such a great relaxing day!


Beautiful beaches, and gorgeous water!



The girls LOVED being out in the sand.  They spent HOURS playing in the sand.  We didn't have any sand toys, but that didn't stop them...



Rich and Ashley tried out snorkeling... I wanted to too, but later in the afternoon the water was cooler and the weather had cooled off so I decided I'll just have to come back another time and snorkel then... :) 




This is the first time these two girls have been to a beach to play in the water and sand all day long...



They LOVED it!


We also took a bike ride around the island and climbed up an observation tower. It was such a fun day!




That night was Pirate Night... The girls all dressed up for it, and of course I never got a picture of them in all their gear.  After dinner and before the pirate party that night Alyssa and Angie and Rich and I did the Midship Detective Agency mystery.  We went all over the ship and found our clues to find out where the stolen paintings and kidnapped puppies were and catch the bad guys.

 I LOVE this picture and I think it sums up the cruise... we had fun... we had so much fun that in the midst of eating her bedtime snack of cookies and milk while watching a little bit of tv, we found Angie fast asleep still holding her cookie...   Sweet Sweet dreams were had on our Disney Dream Cruise!

House projects

After a few weeks of Rich working from home, we decided that we needed to do some moving around of stuff in the house.  The exercise equipment needed to be taken out of the office, and we made the decision to dismantle Alex's room since it's downstairs and that would become the new exercise room.  His stuff got packed up, and the room was painted and the treadmill was put into that room (which was a feat of it's own!  It won't come out of that room until we move away, and maybe not even then! lol! The office got a coat of paint as well and two of the bathrooms.  Now the entire house (except for closets) has been painted since we had moved in 3 years before. But then the biggest house project was thought of, and debated and decided on.  We had always said that we would like to redo the kitchen in this house, and decided to tackle the project.  We found cabinets online we liked and worked with a company to decide on our cabinet layout, and we ordered them....

2013 Tour of California: days 12, 13- Six Flags Magic Mountain, Hollywood

Sunday, June 2nd.   After church in Santa Rosa, we made our way south to Six Flags Magic Mountain. Monday, June 3rd.   Ashley had been waiting forever to go to this amusement park.  She is the thrill ride queen and can't ever get enough of the fast crazy rides.  Rich's brother Dave and his family (who the kids and I stayed with on the drive out) drove out from Arizona and joined us as he and Amanda are thrill ride junkies too. :)  We had a great time- so good that I didnt take very many pictures, but we spent two and a half days at Magic Mountain and had fun the whole time. Tuesday, June 4th.   After spending a few more hours at Magic Mountain, we drove down to Hollywood.  We stopped and walked along the walk of fame and found the stars and handprints of famous actors we like.  Most of those pictures are on Ashley's phone, so I'll have to add them later. :) That evening we checked into our home for the next four nights- Disney's Grand California H...

Our Dog Tale...

So... we have spent the last three weeks looking at puppies online, finding one that would be great for our family. We found an adorable little 4 month old black lab from a lab rescue in Tulsa, about an hour and a half drive away. We contacted them, and filled out the adoption application paperwork. Sent pictures of our fenced back yard, and got approved to adopt her. The lab rescue had named her Regina, for their records mainly- they generally called her puppy and girld so that she would easily adapt to a new name. We bought a large crate (she would get big!) and food bowls and a collar, leash and tag for her and on Saturday we drove to Tulsa to pick her up. The lab rescue was doing an adoption fair, so they had all the dogs they were trying to adopt out at a Petsmart and we meet them there. We got there around 1pm. As I was walking over there were a few people asking about a cute little puppy, and I overheard that it was Regina, and she was being adopted... I then said that I was Jul...
