At Rich's brother's house we took one day to go downtown and visit the Phoenix Science Museum. The kids enjoyed it and there were lots of interactive things for them to do.
The little play area Angela and Rich are in said it was only for kids 4 and under. So Ashley and Alyssa played along with Angela by standing outside of the playarea and reaching over the fence! :)
It was really neat because All of the kids were old enough to play with the interactive exhibits, probably the first time we've gone to a museum where I didn't spend part of the time trying to keep the youngest entertained while the older ones were busy discovering things.
Tug of war, but it wasn't an even fight... this showed how different leverage, makes it easier or harder to pull large weights.
Can you pull up your own bodyweight?
This was a hit! Our local museum has a similar exhibit, but on a pegboard. This was with magnets and was a lot of fun to build the connections!
There was an area that was all about radio's and computers and digital stuff. There was this cool screen you could stand behind, and it had digital dot's then come down around your shadow on the screen. Lot's of fun! :)
They had a special traveling exhibit on Robot's at the museum. Alex loved it! He went through it and straight to the design your own robot table... he was in his element. All of the kids put together robots and had fun watching them spin and twirl.
There were also lots of other hands on activities to do.
We were there right before closing time and the kids got to "drive" a robot in a corner of the exhibit. Lots of fun!
